So urban has grown up. Really?
But just because you make a denim blazer or cashmere hoody and you tell guys they can wear it to the office, does that mean that Urban has grown up? Or have your customers?
Growing up doesn?t mean growing old and tired. Growing up doesn?t mean losing your street sense. It certainly doesn?t mean that you lose your story.
Nor should your clothes. In fact now that you are grown up, they should tell more of your story than you think. Your clothes reflect your life, your style, and your goals?your warrior.
Amidst all these questions, AVIREX launches Fall 2004.
As urban fashion (or any fashion for that matter) questions itself, we present a street- designer men?s collection true to our heritage and true to our traditions. It?s about Aviation and Athletics; it?s about leadership, independence and winning; it?s about AVIREX.
We have created a vintage hero with modern themes. The captain of a football team, a strong young man who wears his pride with a varsity letterman?s jacket - wool body and leather sleeves. He?s the warrior of the playing field, a leader of men and a winner. As he grows up, he trades his varsity jacket for a leather flight ?bomber? - supple leathers, plush shearling and deep cuts. He trains to fly a WWII fighter. Now he?s an officer with sharp wool blazers and slacks. In this fast-forward lifestyle, his clothing takes him from the street to the office to the club.
Our trademark looks are embodied in our athletic hero. Varsity zipper tracksuits, striped letterman sweaters emblazoned with AVIREX letters; roughed up denims, sporty sleek leather jackets themed with championship images of football, basketball and baseball. It?s active wear for the active warrior.
Our hero?s growth is reflected in the Officer?s Collection; reversible wool blazers for the office in army green and deep navy (just flip it inside out to wear it out); a stunning take on the traditional bomber jacket in a Herringbone fabric with matching slacks and finally our classic leather flight jackets; the hallmark fighter jacket (including a slim-cut version) and the traditional officer?s field jacket.
We went to our roots. Clearing the clouds, AVIREX soars.
