Using RS232 from satellite decoder as input to my laptop

Using RS232 from satellite decoder as input to my laptop

I have a satellite tv decoder and a laptop, is it possible to plug the decoder's rs232 into my laptop's rs232 plug and use it as a monitor somehow?
I have an Asus S550C
